The KAI Group was founded in Seki city, Gifu Prefecture, which has a history of over 800 years as the home of forging blades.
Nowhere else in the world can you find a cutlery-related manufacturer which has developed close to 10,000 products in the cooking, grooming, beauty care, and medical fields, as well as engaging in the planning and development, production, sale, and distribution of such a variety of products on its own.
By using that to our advantage we are continuing our efforts so KAI products can become a part of the daily lives of people throughout the world.
Japanese cooking knives.
The Shun Classic series combines the centuries-old forging of the Japanese samurai with today's modern and technically sophisticated manufacturing processes. The result is a range of high quality Damascus knives, designed with attention to the smallest details and engineered to retain their sharpness. The convex edge of the blade and the manual sharpening of each Shun knife guarantee an outstanding cut.
The Shun Classic Damascus series is a great success with the most demanding cooks because these professional knives are made of 32-layer stainless Damascus steel with a central core of VG-10 steel. This very hard, corrosion resistant steel has a Rockwell hardness of 61 +/- 1.
These knives are therefore perfectly suited for professional use. The Shun Classic blades are beautiful to look at because of the characteristic semi-gloss pattern of the 32-layer Damascus steel.
Combined with its elegant black pakka wood handle, this 9 cm vegetable knife offers an overall aesthetic design that puts quality and functionality at the center of your concerns.
